A tenant is your organization’s dedicated compliance workspace in SecurAtlas. This page explains what a tenant contains, how team roles and permissions work, and how to switch between workspaces if you manage or belong to more than one.

What is a tenant?

When you create an account in SecurAtlas, a tenant is created for your organization. The tenant is the container for everything in your compliance program: your risk score, controls, evidence, framework mappings, team members, and settings. Each tenant is configured with the following organizational details:
  • Name — your organization’s display name
  • Industry — used to contextualize your risk score and ALE estimates
  • Employee range — headcount band for financial exposure calculations
  • Annual revenue range — revenue band for ALE estimates
  • Cloud provider — your primary cloud environment
  • Organization typesolo (a single self-managed organization) or managed by an MSP partner
These settings affect how SecurAtlas tailors your risk score and financial exposure estimates to your operating context. You can update them in SettingsOrganization.

Roles and permissions

Every team member in a tenant has a role that determines what they can see and do. SecurAtlas has four roles:

ViewerYesNoNoNo
Only Owners and Admins can change organization settings, manage team members, configure compliance frameworks, and adjust workspace preferences. Members can do day-to-day compliance work — implementing controls and uploading evidence — but cannot change the workspace configuration. Viewers have read-only access, which is useful for stakeholders who need visibility without making changes. To manage team members and roles, go to SettingsTeam.

Switching between tenants

If you belong to more than one tenant — for example, as an MSP partner managing multiple client workspaces — SecurAtlas tracks your active workspace using the tenant selector in the navigation header. Select a different organization from the dropdown to switch context. All views, scores, and controls update immediately to reflect the selected workspace.

MSP-managed tenants

MSPs and partners can manage multiple client tenants from a centralized partner portal. In this model, each client organization is a separate tenant, and the MSP account has elevated access to create, configure, and monitor client workspaces. For a full overview of the MSP workflow, see MSP & Partners.
